To commend the significant contributions of various sectors in promoting investor and financial education in Hong Kong, The Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) hosted the “Investor and Financial Education Award 2025 Presentation Ceremony” at the Financial Education Experience Centre on March 10, 2026.
Enhancing Financial Literacy and Strengthening Anti-Scam Awareness
In light of the high societal concern over increasingly diverse scams in recent years, multiple officiating guests unanimously emphasized the urgency of financial and anti-scam education during the ceremony. Mr. Christopher Hui, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, pointed out that elevating public financial literacy and financial anti-scam awareness is the cornerstone of maintaining market fairness, transparency, and investor confidence. Dr. Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), reiterated the pivotal role of the SFC and the IFEC in promoting financial education, emphasizing that education and enforcement complement each other to further consolidate the capital market.
Mr. Victor Dawes, Chairman of the IFEC, noted that financial education is not merely about imparting knowledge, but more importantly, about cultivating values and lifelong skills. The IFEC will continue to strengthen investor and financial education and provide anti-scam resources to further enhance the financial well-being of people across all sectors in Hong Kong. Dr. Jeff Sze, Acting Secretary for Education, praised the achievements of the academic sector and stated that, starting this year, the Education Bureau will promote financial education with an innovative spirit, cultivating the problem-solving and risk assessment skills students need to face a rapidly changing era.
